This grant funding targets initiatives that aim to mitigate these barriers but stipulates that initiatives solely focused on hands-on technical support without broader literacy goals may not qualify.
For instance, a local program designed to enhance digital literacy among seniors incorporates workshops that not only teach basic computer skills but also connect participants to essential services like telehealth and social interaction through online platforms. Despite the good intentions behind such programs, common compliance traps exist, especially regarding participant data privacy and cybersecurity measures, which can lead to audit risks if not adequately addressed. Furthermore, organizations that fail to navigate these challenges and do not have solid governance around data protection may end up disqualified during review processes.
In terms of what funding will not cover, initiatives that focus exclusively on providing smartphones or tablets without accompanying educational support will find themselves ineligible.
